This authentic Irish pub (i.e., not one of the many out of a kit) pours the best Guinness in town in my opinion. I also appreciate that the owners bring in craft distilled Irish gin and whiskey not otherwise available in the U.S. The space has been really well remodeled with nooks, tables and a long bar. (The bar that used to occupy the space was a dark, dingy dump.) The menu is reasonably priced and features both quick bites and full courses and the food is FRESHLY cooked and tastes it. For the homesick, there is also a grocery area of hard to find Irish specialties such as mushy peas and every kind of spud chip known to Ireland. There is a very competitive trivia night as well as live music on some evenings, usually Friday and Sunday but check the website for the schedule. Warm welcome, good craic, tasty food and a well poured Guinness - what more could you want?

Thanks to Jonathan and all the staff for making us so very welcome during our recent week's stay in New York. We made this our "base" even though it was a 20 minute subway ride away, that's how much we enjoyed it. It's a lovely Irish bar, selling all kinds of beers, single malts, other drinks and also, a grocery store selling essentials. I spoke to Jonathan about this and he showed me a book highlighting the popularity of such places back in his homeland of Ireland, in such places as County Mayo and County Kerry. It was brilliant spending time with him and he made us so local. Irish music on at the weekends, a quiz in the week and food to die for, my favourite being the "small shepherd's pie" which was out of this world for flavour!! A great place to sit and wind down, have a beer and a meal. The staff will make you extremely welcome and this is quality and value for money at the upper end of the spectrum! Thanks to you all Mark & Sarah :)

Used to go here on the regular and the wait staff is consistently pleasant and accommodating. Food is great and in just the past year they've made some improvements to the décor and menu.

Attentive staff. Great music that's not so loud and doesn't drown out conversation. Great food. Tiny ladies' room upstairs has a tiny sink but also has a full-length mirror on the door.

I'm not sure if it is meant to be a modern Irish or English bar, but it has beer so ticks the main box!

A nice environment, clean and with attentive waitstaff. The menu is rather standard pub food with some amount of Irish flavor. Had the Artichoke dip (tasty) and the lunch portion of Fish and Chips (tasty as well). The Guinness pour was perfection, tasty and just the right temp. I'd go back!

Also has a grocery of Scottish treats and crisps. Great Scotch selection. Beer options are lackluster, nothing more than Bud and other mainstream brands.

Amazing - make sure to check it out. A real taste of Ireland in the middle of New York City. Serves food until late. The Guinness is the best I've ever tasted and of course I couldn't forget the staff who went above and beyond while we were there. Will be back on my next visit to the city for sure.

Been here a few times, the first of which allowed me to taste their great Guinness (some of the best taps in NYC I think). Coupled with a gorgeous Shepard's Pie, and I'm pretty sure I had found a decent Irish-style pub. But my last visit was let down by the Bangers & Mash, which had sausage comparable to a Keyfood deli (not so much Irish pork as much as pork ground paste in a sausage casing) and the 'gravy' tasted more like sweet, sour and salty thickened brine. Perhaps the food is hit and miss, but I'll be back for the drinks any time. Great service, and the 'supermarket' where you can pick up international goods is a plus.
