About Zax Restaurant and Bar
Located just South of downtown at the intersection of Barton Springs Road and Riverside Drive, Zax caters to downtown and South Austin alike. It’s also a favorite spot to catch a bite before watching the Congress Bridge Bats nightly departure. The ambiance is casual with a lean towards upscale. The ambiance of the main dining features wood floors and vaulted ceiling, giving it a sort of lodge feel. An small shaded outdoor patio offers a nice dining experience on cooler days. The large copper bar seats up to 20 and features reasonably priced wines, a range of cocktails, and 20 draft beers on tap.

The lunch menu offers 8 great salads, 5 burger options, 3 delicious pastas, and build your own pizzas. The dinner offers the same but adds in a solid list of entrees such as Beef Tenderloin Skewers, Seared Sea Scallops Meuniere, Sesame Crusted Tuna, and Pan Seared Duck Breast all in the $20 – $30 price range.
